The Galway Incident: A Work in Progress by Clare Scott

The artwork in progress is a fitting metaphor for the current global situation. It is an exploration, a process, a searching for solutions. Failure is an ever-present possibility…

The Galway Incident is a short film (5 minutes) that attempts to mimic the experience of the hearing impaired. Telling the story of happenings during a night-out in Galway city,  the narrative becomes increasingly fragmented, both visually and aurally, the viewer has to work harder and harder to follow the story. The film is intended to be projected onto an installation accompanied by events and workshops exploring the experiences of the hard of hearing. The project being delayed by current events, the artist has chosen to present the work as is.

In addition to the online premiere of this short film, Scott will also be presenting research connected to this project in the form of bonus features including the One Minute Workshop: How to Create a Masterpiece on paper to Brazilian Music with Twigs.

This is an Artlinks supported project.

Clare Scott is a multi-undisciplinary artist and writer based in the South East of Ireland.
